Many people today noticed that internet giants Google changed their Favicon from the familiar big G with a square round it, to a simpler lower case g with no border.

I scoured the internet looking for a reason why they changed it, but only found other people with the same questions as me.

Many people talk of a rebranding? but surely that would be a dumb idea due to how wel know the google logo and simpple layout/colourscheme is?

But i have my own theory behind the most talked about favicon in the world.

In the last few months i have been using Firefox 3, and they have made quite a few changes to the layout of the browser window, more specifically the way it displays favicons.

They are displayed on a grey background instead of a white one, and you can now see if the favicon is transparent or not. Googles old favicon is in a square, and wasnt (as far as im aware) transparent, so would of looked like this Blogger favicon;

This is square, boring, and doesnt really look much different from before. This is the new google favicon;

This new favicon shows off the cool white glow type thing you get when your favicon is transparent. Google would of missed out on the cool glowey shit, so in order to keep up with the times, they have updated it, and dropped the gay border so you can see the glow round the g.

But as my friend DJB quite rightly pointed out, they are suppsed to be the BIG G - maybe now they wanna be known as the little g - as written by Philipp Lenssen who pointed out that one of googles core values is to think and act like the underdog.

I guess they will officially let us know soon enough.. Maybe its just some new employee who decided to change it for the shits and grins. I wonder how much bandwith in total - across the world -this new favicon has sucked?

We bought the domain name a while ago for use with a similar idea, but it was forum based. It was a big hit with people, and the site poddled along for a while.

Due to a lack of time we couldnt keep moderating the forum, so have sat on the domain name until something else has been thought of to fill its boots.

Both dave and myself are avid complainers, we love to moan when things are not quite right, push the boundries of customer service and see what we can squeeze from the local and national businesses we deal with as we go about our lives.

I dont know what it is, but whenever my blood is at boiling point, i take it out on my poor blog. I guess its better than shouting at my business parter, or worse, my fiancé. Its not their fault i woke up in the worst mood ever, so its not fair to take it out on them either.

I was woken by Gem this morning at about half past 7 telling me that the dog had poo’d in her bed again. Last night, she wee’d on the floor. Its the 2nd time shes ever poo’d in her bed, and its probably only the 5th time in her life she has wee’d on the floor.

Whats causing my dogs random bladder outbursts?

Its the fucking dog next door. It has to be! Either that or their fucking cats. Ever since they have moved in and their tribe of animals have been shitting and pissing on my garden, bonnie has been different. She was good as gold before, the best dog in the world. And now in the space of 24 hours she has done two things that you’d expect from a puppy, things she grew out of a long time ago.

I figure its the fact the back garden doesn’t smell like her any more? She is a bit funny about where she wee’s and poo’s really, usually only on grass etc.

Hosing down dog shit at half 7 am is not something i enjoy being woken up for.

I guess im also pretty mad that i have had to get a part time job to help pay my bills. The businesses are going OK, but they are not moving fast enough for me. I don’t want to jack it all in - and i wont - but im fucking annoyed that i have had to go out and get something part time.

I want to write a lot of other things down right now, but i wont because i will probably look back in a few hours and regret it.

400th post anyway. Yay for me.

I haven’t driven a car on the road all day every day for some while now, although i do drive my girlfriends car every now and then. Unfortunately, i have noticed that when i DO drive on the roads by myself, i get very angry and the incompetence of people on the roads. People randomly braking, not using indicators - and just general bad drivers.

I was coming off a roundabout the other day, when some prick in a fiesta st overtook me doing a stupid speed, i stayed clear so that he wouldn’t kill me in the process. After 3 sets of lights, i caught up with him (and i was doing the speed limit!) So i gave him some “parked in the boot” action and followed him up the road. He went to turn off, and i stopped at the side of him and suggested he wind his window down so i could call him a prick.

He drove off. Of course.

When will these losers learn?

Will it take a death? Or should i say more deaths?

I am really in need of help right now. My caddy is supposed to be going to nationals, but i have exactly a week today to get it ready. I have had lots of time, but i havent had lots of money. And things are only starting to trickle through now.

I have managed to save and buy most of the things i need, but i have run out of funds again and im still short quite a few parts. I need some sheets of steel to make the box in the back that is gonna prevent someone stealing mystuff again. I need solenoids that my step dad is supposed to be getting me, i need guages, i need a new battery.. Oh and i need tax, MOT and insurance too.

If i manage to get it all done in one week, it will be nothing short of a miracle. The way my bank account looks though it seems highly unlikley that its gonna happen.

Thats right! My good friend HSB went to see the wombats at Rock City and noticed that the legends that are Public Enemy are playing there on the 28th of this month.

It costs just over £20 to see one of the greatest and most legendary rap groups of all time play their greatest album from start to finish.

The rock city ticket site says;

All i can say, is wow. The tickets are booked, and we are going!

How come people like 123-reg can break the law, and get away with it? We have used them for years and years and we have never had a problem with them (ok, we have had some related problems when they fucked up a domain name registration and it got stole from under us) until now!

We have around 40 domain names in our account, and we probably have at least one come up for renewal every month. Normal procedure for me is to leave it as long as comfortably possible (LOL) and then log in and renew it.

We store our credit card details on there site, so every time we do this or every time we buy a domain name, we dont have to write in the long number etc. Its to save US time basically.

Now, we had a .CC domain name that had come up for renewal last month, and it was gonna cost us over £30 to renew it for one year! So as we were not using it, we decided to leave it and let it expire.

3 days ago we received an email invoice from 123-reg for the .CC domain name.

What the fuck?

We logged in, and the .CC domain name was not in our renewal list any more?

I checked, and the amount had been taken from our bank, without our say so?

Ok. So they stole money from my account, to renew a domain name that i did not want.

I rang 123-reg and they fobbed me off with some bullshit about auto renewal and how i had stored the credit card details in my account, so in doing so had given them permission to take my money whenever they wanted to?

What utter bullshit!

English contract law states (basically) that if i dont say i want something, then i dont want it!

They KNOW they send emails out every few days reminding you to renew, i even renewed some other domain names and left that one out on purpose! Yet they STILL renewed it and stole my money to pay for it!

I read all the way through their terms and conditions, and there was no mention of this credit card auto renewal shit - no where did it say “if you put your details in, we’ll use them when we want”

So what gives them the fucking right to do it?

I rang them up again to see if i could speak to someone who wasnt a fucking moron, but surprise surprise another moron on the end of the phone saying something that is blatantly written on a bit of paper in front of him.

Oh, if you want to call 123-reg and dont want to pay 10p a minute, then call 02085877558 as this alternative number replaces the old alternative 01782 605 399 number number that seems to no longer go anywhere.

We have taken the matter up with our bank, and i have removed our credit card details from 123-reg so they cant steal more money.

You fucked with the wrong person you bitches - you WILL feel my wrath.

Yes folks, my baby blackmoor goldfish died today at the ripe old age of 1 year and 10 days old. He has never been of the best health, he has had problems digesting his food since day one, and we have tried changing foods numerous times, to the extent i even fed him cucumber once!

We eventually found that using a tropical type fish food (dried daphnia (SP) worked well, and him and marlon have had that for months without an issue.

Then a few days ago we noticed he had gotten really thin, and had developed a white “haze” around him that looked like mould. We separated him from marlon and put him in the old bowl with some clean water in to see if we could get him better again.

He died this morning about 11:30am, and will be sorely missed by me, gem and bonnie. Marlon couldn’t give a shit as he gets more food and room to swim about now haha.

Rest in peace bob my little negro compadrez - go join trev and the others in that fishy heaven in the sky!
